Using the Search by Genre function

'Search by Genre' is a useful function that enables you to search contents simply by selecting genres of articles. With this function, you can read articles without typing Japanese words.

"Articles 1985-"

There are 17 genres, such as "Latest Issues (full-text articles), "Tensei Jingo (Vox Populi)/ Opinion”, " Brush up on Current Affairs", and "Article with Pronunciation". Clicking on a genre heading will take you to a list of sources that contain relevant articles. Click on one of the sources, and then an article list comes up.

  • About "Latest Issues"

You can search articles of the latest issues of the "Morning Edition (National Edition)", "Evening Edition (National Edition)", "AERA", and "Shukan Asahi".
The articles of the "Morning Edition (National Edition)" published by the Tokyo headquarters become available from around 6am on the same day (Japanese Standard Time). The "Evening Edition (National Edition)" becomes available around 5:30pm (JST).
Due to editorial reasons, articles of "AERA" and the "Shukan Asahi" become available one week after the publication.
