- Such materials as advertisements, stock and financial market information and weather forecasts are not included.
- Some articles are not included because of copyright or other reasons.
- With regard to articles originally published by The International Herald Tribune/ The Asahi Shimbun, the database contains only those produced by The Asahi Shimbun that appeared in the Asahi section of the newspaper.
For some periods, the number of articles is fewer than in others due to data-processing problems or other reasons. In addition, the articles in the database have been processed based on the original content produced for the print versions. The dates and length of some articles are different from the print versions. But the date discrepancies will be fixed sequentially.

About AJW
-
AJW (Asia & Japan Watch) is the Asahi Shimbun's English-language online news portal launched in March 2011. The website introduces the Asahi Shimbun's original articles and analyses of events happening in Japan and East Asia to the world.
AJW provides international readers with the kind of in-depth reporting that only The Asahi Shimbun can offer. They get reports and analyses on politics, economy, society, culture, sports, and coverage of what's happening locally as well as across Asia. AJW's look at "Cool Japan" covers topics like anime, manga, fashion, food, traditional culture, travel, and more. It also has a special section dedicated entirely to the Great East Japan Earthquake and the Fukushima nuclear accident.
